Spirit Box evidence can be obtained by using a Spirit Box and getting a response from the ghost when asking a question from this list of questions.

• The player must either be in the same room as the ghost, or within 3 meters of it.
• All ambient lighting in the said room must be off.
• Some ghosts only respond to people who are alone.
• When all conditions are satisfied, the ghost becomes more likely to respond. This likelihood increases with the tier of the Spirit Box.

Freezing Temperatures are detecting by using a thermometer.

• The presence of player breath does not indicate freezing temperatures. A reading of 32°F or below is required.
• Temperatures will adjust over time, and therefore multiple rooms can be freezing and a freezing room does not guarantee a ghost is in that room.
• The thermometer fluctuates by -2 / +4 degrees.
• Any ghost type's presence in a room will cause the room's temperature to drop over time.

Ultraviolet are detected using a UV Light to reveal fingerprints or footprints. Fingerprints appear after a ghost interacts with certain surfaces, mostly being doors and light switches.

• The exception is the Obake, who has a chance to leave fingerprints (75%), which can also be unique (~17%). Footprints appear after a ghost has stepped in salt pile.
• Fingerprints and footprints must be "charged" with UV Light before collecting photo rewards.

D.O.T.S. Projector evidence is detected using a D.O.T.S. Projector. The evidence appears as a ghostly silhouette or hologram in the light of the projector when a ghost passes through it.

• You can see this figure through a video camera. With a video camera in night vision mode, visibility of the figure may be much better.
• If you have a Goryo, the effect will only appear through a video camera while nobody is in the room.

EMF Level 5 is detected using an EMF Reader. An activity that would normally leave an EMF Level 2 or 3 reading has a 25% chance to leave an EMF Level 5 reading instead.

• EMF Level 2 indicates an interaction has happened, EMF Level 3 indicates an object was thrown, and EMF Level 4 indicates the ghost manifested.
• The EMF Reader must be within about 1.5 meters of an activity to display a reading.

Ghost Writing is detected when a ghost writes in a Ghost Writing Book.

• The ghost can draw a random image in the ghost book, which has no relation to the ghost's type.
• There are six different drawings the ghost can produce.
• Ghosts will prioritize writing in an open book rather than throwing it.
• Ghosts cannot write in books that are closed, but they can throw the book.

Ghost Orbs appear as small, faint, spherical orbs and are detected using any video feed with night vision.

• They will appear in the ghost's favorite room.
• The Mimic has Ghost Orbs as a "false" evidence.
• A hand-held Video Camera is often better than relying on stationary cameras, since Ghost Orbs can move.
• It is best to check for Ghost Orbs when lights are off.
